Founded in 1994 by the parents of Tribeca's public elementary schools, PS 150 and PS 234, Taste of Tribeca showcases and benefits the arts and enrichment programs of this very special neighborhood. Now in its 18th year, Taste of Tribeca has grown into downtown's most beloved food event, gathering the community on a stage of food, wine and art. This year, more than 70 influential neighborhood chefs will share their favorite dishes with 7,000 expected guests, while starring elements will range from family-friendly activities like the dedicated Kids Zone to live entertainment to cooking demos to wine tastings at the day-long street celebration.
This year, Taste of Tribeca will be offering several VIP experiences including the Market Seat and Premium Table. Taste of Tribeca expects to see at least 10 percent more restaurant participation this year than last. As the premiere downtown festival continues to expand exponentially, it is attracting many high-end chefs to participate; new this year is Kutsher's and Tre Sorelle. Prior to the festival, some of the restaurants will be hosting mini-events to support the festival. On May 9th, Sarabeth's is hosting a 7-course wine dinner for $150, which also comes with a Taste ticket and on May 15th, Macao Trading Co. is hosting a cocktail event with specialty drinks and appetizers for $80, which comes with a Taste ticket.
