  • "Step Into Spring" Friends of the Harbor Conservancy's Inaugural Event
  • **Drinks, hors d'oeuvres, music and tours led by National Park Rangers**

The Friends of the National Parks of New York Harbor Conservancy will celebrate its inaugural event on May 3 at Federal Hall, the site of so many beginnings -- where George Washington was sworn in as President, where the Bill of Rights was ratified and where the Founding Fathers of the first Congress met to establish the ideas and ideals of the America we know today.

The Harbor Conservancy is a public-private partnership of the National Park Service, which is the largest owner of shoreline on New York Harbor and manages 7,000 acres in Jamaica Bay - the largest continuous open space in the City. Among its 22 sites are the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Governors Island, Gateway National Recreation Area, and Federal Hall.
