  • Third Street Music School Settlement’s Spring Dance Party & Fund-Raiser, Night Music
  • The event, a “friend- and fund-raiser,” for 400 guests, brings together the families and businesses of the East Village and surrounding communities for an evening of celebration in support of Third Street Music School Settlement. Funds raised through this event will support Third Street’s public school partnerships, need-based financial aid, merit-based scholarships and tuition-free enrichment programs including performance ensembles. The event, to be held in the Marlin Room of historic Webster Hall, will provide guests with an eclectic space in which to enjoy dancing, socializing, food, wine & spirits, and a whole lot of fun. David Guy (Third Street alumnus and trumpeter for Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings) and the Menahan Street Band will play an hour-long set, with students from Third Street’s Rock Program providing the opening act. Featured buffet tables will showcase local restaurants/cafes and the room’s expansive bar will feature donated beverages. Seating will provide lounging to enjoy the music, food and drinks, as well as each other’s company.

“Third Street,” as the School is commonly known, is the nation’s oldest community music school and a cultural anchor in the East Village and Lower East Side since 1894. Third Street serves more than 5,000 students of all ages and backgrounds each year both at its school on East 11th Street and through 26 School & Community Partnerships. Third Street also presents more than 250 free-to-the-public performances each year given by students, faculty and renowned guest artists with a total estimated annual audience of 25,000.
