  • Inaugural Art Southampton to Host Premiere of ‘HEAARTBEAT’ to Benefit Ross School
  • The Inaugural edition of Art Southampton presented by Art Miami will take place July 26-30 on the Elks Lodge fairgrounds 605 County Road, Southampton. Art Southampton and Ross School have partnered to create a wonderful new philanthropic endeavor that will benefit the Ross School Chamberlain—Fairweather Scholarship Fund created by John Chamberlain, Prudence Fairweather and Alexandra Fairweather in 2007 to recognize and support students with a passion for the arts.
Art Southampton is thrilled to announce the debut of ‘HEAARTBEAT’ an extraordinary documentary on the late world-renowned artist John Chamberlain, which will coincide with the VIP Preview on Thursday, July 26 in a specially constructed theatre at the Fair. “HEAARTBEAT” was created by his step-daughter Ross School alumna Alexandra Fairweather.
By documenting Chamberlain's artistic process and intentions, the film reveals his desire to go out into the world and create art that makes your 'heart beat’. ‘HEAARTBEAT’ captures the man that the public has not seen before: Chamberlain as a father, a husband, and a friend. As he battles health issues, Chamberlain fervently works to complete sculptures that will leave his mark on the world. In conclusion, the movie asserts that art's true value comes from the presentation of 'unprecedented information' and 'the experience of self-discovery’.
The Art Southampton VIP Preview kicks-off on Thursday, July 26 at 6:00pm with cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres for all guests. The Premiere of ‘HEAARTBEAT’ will begin at 7:30pm with a select group of notable speakers and an intimate introduction from Alexandra Fairweather. Seating is limited to the first 40 generous donors at the price of $500 per ticket with 100% of the proceeds directly benefiting the Ross School Chamberlain-Fairweather Scholarship Fund. The premiere is highly anticipated by artists and collectors alike, and is expected to sell out quickly. Of special interest to collectors and fans of the artist will be the display of a number of Chamberlain’s works by the prestigious Gallery Valentine.
