Joseph Stein, who wrote the adaptation for "Enter Laughing," based on the novel by Carl Reiner. Stein was introduced to the audience as "an up-and-coming writer." He is 96.
"Enter Laughing, The Musical" opened at The York Theater on Thursday night. I haven't seen anything so funny in years.

I first photographed Bob Dishy in 1965 with Liza Minnelli in Boston, Massachusetts. They were both appearing in "Flora, the Red Menace." The play, directed by George Abbott and Hal Prince, was in out-of-town previews at The Colonial Theater prior to its New York run.
