Bergdorf's Fall Beauty Event

Estee Lauder's newest goodies.
By Jamee Gregory

I know what it is to be a Bergdorf blonde, but the idea of a Bergdorf bargain caught my eye this morning while I finished breakfast in bed, after reading Page Six, of course. A full page ad in the New York Post invited shoppers to visit Bergdorf Goodman’s Fall Beauty Event.

Three days of extraordinary beauty and special events
were offered along with a $25 gift card, good toward your purchase of $100 or more on the beauty level, including sunglasses and Wolford hosiery. This sounded good to me, so off I headed on my way to Jessie Araskog and Somers Farkas’ lunch at le Cirque.

A selection of room fragrances, candles, sprays, and sticks.

Clockwise from above: Taking full advantage of the Fall Beauty Event; La Bella Donna; Sisley's personalized makeup chart and skin care program to take home and do it like the pros.
A brush for every curve of your face from Laura Mercier.
The cosmetics department, located below the first floor, was jam-packed with shoppers. Women clustered hopefully at the counters, sampling new products, many exclusive to BG. On a warm, muggy day who couldn’t use a little help? Their were even gifts with purchase, like Nars glamorous new palette with colors for eyes, lips and cheeks that was added to your purchase over $150 or a sampling of Estee Lauder’s newest goodies if you spent $200. Temptations galore made this easy, starting with sparkling jeweled compacts, perfect for pulling out of one’s minaudiere at a gala and ending with new mascara.

Sales people were incredibly helpful and friendly. At Prescriptives blush was being custom blended, at ReVive creams to keep one beautiful were proffered, at Lancome eye shadows twinkled and tempted.

Wolford’s Velvet de Luxe tights were flying off the counter along with clingy turtlenecks and patterned hose in Anthracite, Mocha and Black. Soon they’ll be sold out and the weather will change. Be a smart shopper ... Bergdorf's Fall Beauty Event ends on Saturday, September 29th, so head on over before it’s too late! Big shades look so now, so protect your precious eyes from Big Apple sun and construction dust.
