Two Sundays ago, on July 16th in Los Angeles, Michael Feinstein and Linda Eder performed in concert at The Greek Theatre to benefit The Deane F. Johnson Center for Neurotherapeutics at UCLA, creating awareness and raising funds for the research of Alzheimer’s disease.

The evening, "Melodies and Memories", started with a dinner at the Los Angeles Zoo with the concert following. Deane Johnson was a very successful entertainment lawyer who became president of Time Warner Inc. He succumbed to the disease in 1999 and his widow Kate Edelman Johnson has generously supported research focused on the prevention and cure of Alzheimer's disease. With Dr. Jeffrey Cummings, Kate has initiated the Deane F. Johnson Center at UCLA to pursue her dream of conquering this tragic illness.

It was a very successful evening drawing a big crowd of celebrity guests including Diahann Carroll, Linda Gray, Neil Sedaka, Phyllis George, Lorenzo Lamas, Anne Archer, Freda Payne, Anne Jeffries, Roslyn Kind, Joanna Carson, John Schneider, Keely Smith, Todd Bridges, Lorna Luft, Angie Dickinson, Ginny Mancini and radio host Michael Jackson. They raised close to $500,000.
