The Paint the Town Red party at Doubles, co-chaired by Melanie Holland, Heather Sargent, Alatia Bradley, Annabelle Fowlkes, Mary Van Pelt and Mark Gilbertson, was a big hit with the guests.

Red Devil cocktails were served on silver platters, followed by a candlelit dinner and dancing to the club’s brand new sound system.

The invitation said “Dress Red Hot,” and as you can see most complied. “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Susie Essman was the main attraction at the Chairscholars’ 4th Annual Comedy Night at The Hudson Terrace the Tuesday before last.

They honored Michael Koffler, CEO of MetSchools, and raised over $37,000 for the charity. The benefit raises funds to help transform the lives of financially challenged young people with serious physical disabilities by providing scholarships for college or vocational school.
The crowd gets ready for the show.
Among the guests: Real Housewives of NY’s Jill Zarin and husband Bobby; national chair scholar recipient Quemuel Arroyo, Sharon Grelsamer, the VP and daughter of the charity’s founder Dr. Hugo Keim, Nadine Grelsamer and scholarship sponsor Deborah Bailey. Also: Fearless Music’s Lee Heiman and his wife, Lisa Berlin, Stacy Ichiuji, Alex Frias, Stephanie Jones, Liza Sandler, Wendy Diamond, Paul Morgan, attorney Mark Smith, model Nicola Mar (a.k.a “The Bod”) and the club owner Michael Sinensky.

Promoting her new book, "What Would Susie Say?: Bullsh*t Wisdom About Love, Life and Comedy," Essman cracked jokes, threw out questions to the crowd, and kept everyone on the edge of their seats with her good-natured rant that was laced with her unprintable profanities. When Essman eyed Mr. Zarin in the front row, he unwittingly became the focus of some of her good-natured assaults. But there were no hard feelings and later in the evening, his wife Jill stopped in to congratulate Essman on her new book and have her sign the copy that she had won that night in auction.
