| The Children's Cancer and Blood Foundation (CCBF) held its annual Breakthrough Ball benefit gala at the Plaza. Honorary chairs were Tiki Barber, Laureen Kelley, and Carolyn Wiener. They presented the Breakthrough Spirit Award to Toni Braxton, Charles Grodin, and Ted Turner. All of the honorees have dedicated their time, energy and resources to philanthropic endeavors on behalf of children in need. Charles Grodin, in addition to accepting his award, served as Master of Ceremonies for his fourth year. The evening also featured a special performance by Toni Braxton and a live auction led by Jamie Niven, Vice Chairman of Sotheby’s. Proceeds from this benefit enable us to provide much needed medication, chemotherapy and other life saving treatments to children treated at the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology of New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical Center. |

| The name Christopher Hyland, purveyor of luxe furnishings and fabrics for the home, for more than 20 years, has been synonomous with luxury and the sumptuous. The grand Fur District loft that he shares with his partner Constantino Castellano and their dog Hudson rivals the toniest Upper East Side digs imaginable. In terms of scale, lushness and attention to detail it rival an English country house, except it’s perched on the 12th floor of a hulking former office building. So the only thing missing are the flocks of grazing sheep outside the windows. To honor the Irish Georgian Society and its American supporters, Mr. Hyland threw open every door, even his immaculately designed closets, for a sunset drinks party. There: Joe and Sheila O'Malley Fuchs, Catherine Cahill and Bill Bernhard, Liz and Peter Haveles, Judy and Jack Hadlock, Kirk de Gooyer, Maribeth and Ellen Welsh, Maureen Atinsky, Eileen Fell, Gail and Stephen Kittenplan, Maura and Sean O'Rourke, Sebastian Guinness, Louise Stephaich, Niall Smith, Chantal O'Sullivan, Denise Johnston and Joe McConnell, Jose and Beatrice Aguirre, Steven Stolman and Christopher Mason. |
