The Children’s Museum of the Arts, New York’s only children’s museum that brings artists and children together to create, exhibit, and celebrate children’s artwork, presented its annual art auction at Phillips de Pury & Company on Thursday, October 22. The auction featured original works by Andy Warhol, John Waters, Yoko Ono, William Wegman and Mark di Suvero, among others. In addition to works by many well-established artists, the CMA auction also featured works by some of New York’s most promising up-and-coming artists including Raylene Gorum and Jordan Eagles. This year’s event was hosted by Iman, Keith McNally, and Joel Wachs, and featured 30 silent auction pieces and 10 live auction works.

The CMA Auction is one of the museum’s most vibrant and enjoyable events of the year and featured several interactive art stations where attendees can unleash their own creativity. The auction’s theme, “ABCs of Art,” demonstrates what those three letters mean to CMA — A is for Auction, B is for Be an Artist and C is for Collection.

Doubles celebrated Halloween twice this year. First the youngest members got into costume for the Ghosties & Goodies Party, where Magic Al Garber performed. Then there was the Goblin Gala after the sun went down and the masquerade got much more serious. A haunting good time was had by all.
