Despite the multiple holiday soirees and stationary traffic, the city’s social girls joined jewelry designer Mimi So, for an elegant holiday celebration at her Fifth Avenue penthouse studio. Hosted by Ann Caruso, Elizabeth Meigher, Lara Meiland, Maggie Rizer and Susan Shin, the evening was about baubles and bubbles and the guests had a thoroughly charming and otherwise time adorning themselves in the designer’s gold and diamonds while sipping the Veuve Clicquot.

From “a girl’s best friend” diamonds to sleek gold geometric necklaces to micro-pave delicacies, to chunky white, yellow and rose gold rings and cuffs, it was all bling and bedazzled.

Besides the ornamenting that was going on big time, everyone also walked away with an education in the art of handcrafted fine jewelry. Guests such as Alex McCord, Anisha Lakhani, Lesley Schulof, Mia Morgan, Emma Snowdon-Jones and Tracy Stern were treated to a personal tour of Mimi’s state-of-the-art work facility where mulit-generational artisans from another era molded, carved, cut and polished metals and gems.

Meanwhile, Susan Shin showed off a series of glittering engagement rings -- only fitting, as Mimi is designing and crafting her ring in collaboration with her fiancé.

Mimi So is luxury jewelry that is modern and feminine. Coming from a third generation of jewelers, shortly after graduating from Parsons School of Design, she decided to open her own “namesake” boutique in the heart of the diamond district on 47th Street and Fifth Avenue, where it still stands today.

It was during these formative years that Mimi developed a high standard for quality, as her surroundings were predominantly spent working with precious stones, 24kt gold and platinum. Today, the Mimi So collections can be found in the precious jewelry departments of Neiman Marcus, Holt Renfrew, Lane Crawford and other exclusive luxury jewelry and fashion retailers around the world. She strives for quality -- “it is everything, quality lasts forever, quality speaks for itself.”

In 2007, Mimi was honored to be recognized and invited into the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), joining 250 of the most creative and prestigious fashion designers in America today. Today, Mimi So is worn by many celebrities including Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Courtney Cox , Drew Barrymore, Diane Lane, and Anne Hathaway, to name a few.
