Martha Stewart and Harry Slatkin's joint birthday in Montauk at Navy Beach. |
| Martha Stewart, America's queen of hearth and home and Harry Slatkin, America's king of home fragrances (read: candles) had a joint birthday last Friday night, in Montauk at Navy Beach, a new restaurant opened in an old restaurant and owned by Leyla Marchetto, the daughter of Silvano who owns the famous restaurant named for himself in the Village. The guestlist was made up of style gurus, their worshippers and devotees. |

Atmosphere |
| Both Stewart and Slatkin have dwellings farther west in stylish East Hampton but when you're in their business, their always another issue or product needing to be created and then introduced. This time it was Navy Beach. For want of a better description, this is society today and the birthday girl and boy are two of its leading luminaries. |

| More than 300 attended the 3rd Annual Best Buddies Hamptons Gala Saturday night at the Water Mill home of Anne Hearst and Jay McInerney, raising $325,000 in total donations for Best Buddies International, the organization founded in 1989 by Tony Shriver to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one to one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There was a lively cocktail hour, a gourmet dinner catered by Robbins and Wolfe, featuring Les Compagnons wines courtesy of Jacques Azoulay, a lively auction led by Benjamin Doller of Sotheby’s, which featured fabulous items such as getaways to the Turks and Caicos and Las Vegas, a Judith Ripka necklace, a Hunt Slonem painting, Heys Romero Britto Collection luggage, an evening with Miss Universe 2010, tickets to New York Fashion Week events. |

|
| The evening’s entertainment included a dance performance by Jeanine Mason, Season Five Winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” and Buddy Ambassador Brett Banford. Their poignant performance inspired Countess LuAnn DeLesseps to sing her new recording of “Money Can’t Buy You Class” while dancing. The countess is an enthusiastic vocalist despite her lack of awareness of her inability to carry a tune, which makes her performance especially memorable. Chairs of the evening were Haley and Jason Binn, Anne Hearst and Jay McInerney, Johan de Nysschen, Tatiana and Campion Platt, Alina and Anthony Shriver and Lydia and Rudy Touzet. |
