This past Tuesday night at MoMA, The Cinema Society, Andrew Saffir, founder with Blackberry (yes, that Blackberry -- they’re getting out more socially) hosted a special screening of “You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger,” written and directed by Woody Allen. Starring Antonio Banderas, Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins, Gemma Jones, Freida Pinto, Lucy Punch and Naomi Watts.

Woody Allen’s story follows a pair of married couples. If you’re a Woody Allen aficionado, as is this writer, you know you know his characters because you’ve met them before. Or their neighbors, or their ex-wives, or their shrinks. You know this if you’re a New Yorker, no matter where you are.
After the screening, star-studded and all, there was a supper at The Lambs Club at The Chatwal Hotel on 132 West 44th Street (at 6th Avenue). It was one of those nights. |

| Also Tuesday night over at Brooks Brothers at 346 Madison, they held a cocktail reception in honor of the launch of True Prep, published by Knopf. Co-authors Lisa Bernbach and Chip Kidd and 400 preppy guests. The book commemorates the 30th anniversary of Lisa's The Official Preppy Handbook. It was THAT long ago?? Geez. Well, now the wine has winnowed and we have "True Prep." And it's everywhere. |
