| The New Yorkers For Children gala Tuesday night at Cipriani 42nd Street raised a record $1.6 million to benefit young people in foster care in New York City. Jamie Niven from Sotheby’s raised nearly $400,000 at the live auction he conducted after dinner. That money will go to support educational programs such as the Guardian Scholars program and the Back-to-School Package program. Circa was the presenting sponsor of the evening. There are nearly 16,000 youth in foster care in New York City, and New Yorkers For Children (NYFC) is committed to providing them with the essential tools to become successful and self-sufficient adults. |
