More than 120 guests filled Restaurant Daniel to capacity on Sunday evening, October 17 for Copland House’s 5th annual culinary and musical gala, which pairs renowned chefs with America’s leading composers and performers. These memorable events benefit Copland House’s musical, educational, and public programs at Copland’s restored, National Historic Landmark home in Cortlandt Manor and at Merestead in Mount Kisco.
This year’s gala, Revue de Cuisine, took a fanciful view on life, love, drama, and whimsy in the kitchen beginning with an impeccable selection of hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Daniel Boulud and his chefs (hors d’oeuvres included Vegetarian Roll with Hearts of Palm and, Espelette Pepper Sauce, Vodka Beet Cured Hamachi with Horseradish Cream, Taylor Bay Scallop Ceviche with Celery and Mango Parsley Arrancine with Saint Nectaire, Sugar Cane Skewered Shrimp with Rouille, Crispy Duck and Foie Gras Craquelin with Plum Coulis), and a silent auction that included a luxury weekend at Newport’s Vanderbilt Hall, a dazzling array of pearls and other gems from Jewel of Ocean, boating trips around Manhattan, a private concert, and much more. |
