| This past Saturday, January 26, 2013, The DiMenna Children's History Museum at the New-York Historical Society hosted its first-ever Family Benefit Party, Passport Through American History, for children, parents and grandparents. Children collected stamps in their historical passports by completing challenges and experiences, such as tasting food from New Amsterdam, discovering what a Civil War encampment looked like, and dressing up as a Newsie. Special thanks to the generosity and support of our event sponsor, designer Yliana Yepez, and Eleni's New York, for their cookie and activity donation. |

On Thursday, January 24, the annual BAM Theater Gala honored renowned director Peter Brook and the US premiere of his latest production, The Suit. Brook has a long history with BAM that began in 1971 when Harvey Lichtenstein presented his legendary production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. In 1987, Brook brought The Mahabharata to BAM, a production that inspired the transformation of the Majestic
Theater into what is now the BAM Harvey Theater. A favorite of directors and performers, the Harvey is currently playing host to this latest production as well. |
