Sir Harold Evans, Sir Howard Stringer, and Tina Brown There was a book party (one of many) for Tina Brown and her new bestselling book “The Diana Chronicles” about the short and tragic life of Britain’s most famous royal since Queen Victoria. The author and her husband Sir Harry Evans are so entrenched in the New York media world that any party involving them will bring out the most golden of media hordes. The book, they say (I haven’t read it yet), is a page-turner, can’t-put-down-able, and will leave you in tears at the end. Meanwhile, at the book party, it was all smiles and laughter. I haven’t seen pictures of Tina Brown grinning this broadly ... ever! It looks like she’s really really happy, and well she ought to be after this achievement.

The Rubin Museum of Art held an intimate cocktail reception at its headquarters at 150 West 17th Street, serving as a kickoff for the first annual Ninerivers Gala. The Gala will celebrate the Rubin Museum’s third anniversary. Honorary chairs include William F. Baker, H.E. Ambassador Sald T. Jawad of Afghanistan, Bob Kerrey, William H. The event was held at Sardi’s where they announced this year’s honorees and the always extraordinary lineup of participating artists in what has become the dance event of the year. American Ballet Theater Board Member Anka Palitz and The Jerome Robbins Foundation are this year’s honorees.The Honorary chairs are Cynthia Gregory, Donna McKechnie, Kevin McKechnie, Jane Powell, Ann Reinking,Chita Rivera & Ethan Steifel. The 22nd Anniversary Chairs are Patricia J. Celebrity Golf Challenge on Monday, June 18th at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck.    Bob and Suzanne Wright co-founded Autism Speaks, the nation’s leading autism advocacy organization, two years ago after their grandson was diagnosed with autism.  Kevin and Susan Murray are strong supporters of raising awareness and funding for autism and have co-chaired this event for the past nine years.
