Qatar Airways hosted an extravagant evening of entertainment designed by Colin Cowie to celebrate Qatar Airways inaugural flights to New York. The party was billed “An Evening in Qatar Airways First Class Lounge” and it was held at the Frederick P. Rose Hall – Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center on Columbus Circle in the Time-Warner complex. Qatar Airways operates 57 aircraft and it’s anticipated that in eight years that number will double. They have four flights a week now between Doha and New York, and they are not just any airline when it comes to service and luxury.

The Mostly Mozart Festival Gala was held at Lincoln Center last week where they honored Movado for its long standing support of arts and culture, and Lincoln Center and its programs in particular.

Efraim Grinberg, President and CEO of Movado Group Inc. received the award on behalf of Movado. Mr. Grinberg has had a long relationship with Lincoln Center. He has been been a member of Lincoln Center’s Board of Directors since 2001.

In 1999, his father, Gedalio Grinberg, Chairman of the Board of Movado, and his mother, Sonia Grinberg, made a private gift of TimeSculpture, the 19-foot tall bronze clock tower designed by Philip Johnson. The clock tower stands in Dante Park just across the avenue from Lincoln Center plaza and has become a city landmark. With its elegant, modern design, Johnson created the perfect symbol of Movado’s close association with New York’s greatest cultural complex.
