On a Wednesday night not long ago, the Couture Council of F.I.T. gathered at the Upper East Side townhouse of interior designer Charlotte Moss to announce plans for their annual Couture Council luncheon, which will honor Alber Elbaz of Lanvin. Her guest of honor, Valerie Steele, the director of The Museum at F.I.T., greeted guests in Charlotte’s garden with espalier ivy on the walls and a fire burning in the gazebo fireplace.

Guests were able to wander through first two stories of Charlotte’s sensational house, with many pausing in her library to look at her book collection.
Marilyn Megargel and Petria May both arrived wearing vintage garments that once belonged to Nan Kempner; Marilyn wore a draped pair of Bill Blass pants, and Petria wore high-waisted green pants and a military-style beret. Yaz Hernandez wore vintage earrings designed by Elsa Schiaparelli.
Among those attending were Couture Council Chairs Yaz Hernandez, Sarah Wolfe, and Liz Peek; Luncheon Chairs Tiffany Dubin and Lisa Perry; Junior Luncheon Chairs Byrdie Bell, Serena Nikkah, Alexis Tobin, and Whitey Wolfe; Designers Francisco Costa, Cathy Hardwick, Zac Posen, Gemma Khang, Tiffany Koury, Arnold Scaasi, and Yeohlee Teng, along with Cece Cord, Laird Borelli, Richard Turley, Samantha Thompson, Roxanne Lowitt, and Barbara Tober.
Guests sipped on lemonade and wine, and nibbled on hors d’oeuvres served by Glorious Foods, as the guests of honor toasted the upcoming luncheon.

The other night the Cinema Society screened “Interview” at the Tribeca Grand before a star-studded crowd. The film, which stars Sienna Miller and Steve Buscemi (and was directed by Buscemi, who also adapted the screenplay), delivers a clever and insightful portrayal of a serious political journalist forced to interview America’s top actress.
Miller and Buscemi were on hand for the screening which was sponsored by Dior Beauty as well as the star-studded after- party which followed at the Penthouse of the Soho Grand.
Andrew Saffir, Cinema Society founder, welcomed a stellar crowd including Edie Falco, David Schwimmer, Anna Wintour, Kelly Rowland, Sandra Bernhard, Stanley Tucci, Famke Janssen, Moby, Damon Dash and Rachel Roy, Tina Brown, Billy Connolly, Heather Matarazzo, Rachel Dratch, Amy Sacco, Mario Testino, John Ventimiglia, Daphne Zuniga, Zuleikha Robinson (The Namesake, Rome), Tinsley Mortimer, Sante D’Orazio, Nicole Miller, Hana Soukupova, Cynthia Rowley, Rufus Albemarle, Alex Lundqvist, Marcus Schenkenberg, Maer Roshan, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Marjorie Gubelmann, Tiffany Dubin, producers Bruce Weiss and Gijs van de Westelaken, Dior Beauty’s Dianne Vavra and Sony Pictures Classics co-President Tom Bernard. |
