Fashion Week. The entertainment/social budgets get bigger every year. After the runway shows which are ostensibly in the Bryant Park tents, but are actually all over town, there are the parties. Some of the shows turn into parties. Shoe parties, bag parties, anniversary parties, late night parties, parties after the parties. By which I mean, the variety of the guest lists could suit any type and any demographic. Probably the classiest of them all was the black-tie dinner after the Ralph Lauren show in the Conservancy Garden in Central Park. The evening celebrated Mr. Lauren's 40th year in business. Afterwards there was a dinner for several hundred in a tent nearby. I wasn't there but you can be sure every detail of the dinner was done to perfection because that's Ralph Lauren's style.
