| Doubles, the private club in the Sherry Netherland Hotel on Fifth Avenue celebrated its 33rd Anniversary with a black-tie dinner dance. Peter Duchin and his band played and the dance floor was busy all night. When they want to dance the party’s a winner. Executive Chef Steven Mellina prepared a brilliant menu: Crab and Mango Salad; Herb Crusted Lamb Chops; Bibb and Endive Salad; and Four chocolate, Hazelnut and Praline Torte. Big crowd a familiar NYSD names: Geoffrey Bradfield hosted a table for pals Helena Lehane, Douglas Hannant, Felicia Taylor, Frederick Anderson, Patty Raynes, Roric Tobin and Debbie Bancroft. | On a Friday evening earlier this month, French American Aid for Children (FAAC) honored Mr. Renaud Dutreil, Chairman of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton at their 68th Annual Bal des Berceaux at the Plaza. The ball has been held every year since 1942. Every year this ball brings together leaders of the French-American community to celebrate a group of debutantes and to raise funds for seven organizations in the US and France that extend professional care to children experiencing challenges to their health and development. |

| Monday night a week ago at Christie’s, a Gala Dinner was held to benefit the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe. There was also a reading “O’Keeffe, Speaking with Friends and Lovers,” a reading of her letters from the Collection Beinecke Library at Yale. Joan Allen read the voice of Georgia O’Keeffe. Sam Waterson read Alfred Stieglitz. Marsha Mason narrated and read the voice of Anita Pollitzer. The evening began with the reading, followed by a reception and then dinner with the performers. Candace and Rick Beinecke and Ann Nitze were Gala chairs. Hahn Winery Estate in Monterey, California and Nicolaus and Gaby Hahn sponsored the evening. |
