More than 200 avid supporters attended the 2nd Annual Best Buddies Hamptons Gala at the Water Mill home of Anne Hearst and Jay McInerney last Friday. The Gala, presented by UBS, raised nearly $275,000 for Best Buddies International. The organization was founded twenty years ago by Anthony Kennedy Shriver. Shriver’s goal was to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
