The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Associates Committee's annual Fall Party at the Four Seasons Restaurant.
On Wednesday, November 12, 2014, The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Associates Committee hosted its annual Fall Party at the Four Seasons Restaurant. Sponsored by Monique Lhuillier, the glamorous evening was co-chaired by Travis Acquavella, Carolina de Neufville, Shabnam Henry, and Jessica Sailer van Lith, with Honorary Chairman Monique Lhuillier.

The stylish crowd of more than 350 from the fashion, business, art, and philanthropy worlds enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and dancing. Associates Committee Chairman Eleanor Ylvisaker thanked attendees for their generous support of the sold-out event, and the music of DJ D-Nice inspired guests to hit the dance floor late into the night.

Sotheby’s Auctioneer and MSK Board of Overseers member Jamie Niven took the stage to raise critical funds for Pediatric Sarcoma, and in total the event raised more than $600,000. Pediatric Sarcoma is a cancer that can arise in bone, muscle, or connective tissue throughout the body affecting mostly children, adolescents, and young adults. The funds raised by The Associates Committee will accelerate the processes needed to launch and support clinical trials of a treatment that promises to change the future for children and young adults afflicted with this difficult disease.

On November 10th Charlie Scheips gave a lively talk followed by a book signing at the Colony Club for his new publication, Elise de Wolfe's Paris: Frivolity Before the Storm. He spoke before an attentive audience about this original interior designer, who captured the glory of pre-World War I entertaining in her home in Versailles, France. Thanks to the generosity of Madison Cox, all AFB weekend guests received a copy of Charlie's beautiful book.

The annual Gala dinner took place at the Pratt House on November 11th, Veterans' Day. It was the perfect symbolic date since the Franco-American Museum, Château de Blérancourt, was created by Anne Morgan following World War I. Ambassador François Delattre, former French Ambassador to the U.S. and current Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations was this year's guest of honor.

A six-minute video produced by French Touch Events of Ambassador Delattre's illustrious diplomatic career was shown and Ambassador Delattre charmed all present with his devotion to the friendship between France and the U.S.

Guests were treated to a unique French dinner by rising star Chef Laurent Kalkotour of Atrium Dumbo and wines from the private cellar of George Sape. Among the dinner guests were Ambassador Craig Stapleton, former U.S. Ambassador to France, Philippe de Montebello, former head of the Metropolitan Museum, Didi d'Anglejan, Founder of AFB, President of AFB Eugenie Angles from Paris, and Sonja Morgan. Sponsors included Christofle, Moet Hennessy USA, Madison Cox, Martinique Promotion Bureau and Champagne Paul Goerg.
