Summer fun and fashion

Millbrook Hunt hounds at Fitch's Corner Spectator Lunch.
Hot summer fun with the vibrant colors of Rio Nights was the theme for the Fitch's Corner Horse Trials Weekend held at the horse farm of Fernanda Kellogg and Kirk Henckels in Millbrook, one of the most stylish towns in the Hudson Valley.

Horses were the core of the weekend with 300 entries hailing from the mid-Atlantic states as far north as Quebec. Le tout Millbrook made up the spectators and partygoers. Social chairs Nancy Henze and Darren Henault transported the spirit of Ipanema and Carmen Miranda costumes to the horsey set. Rio Nights were created with green, blue and yellow arches of metallic balloons. Feathers and ropes of faux gemstones decorated the tables. DJ FLO who apprenticed in the night clubs along beach of Copacabana kept the dance floor active.

The League to Save Lake Tahoe along with Saks Fifth Avenue presented their annual fund-raising luncheon and fashion show on August 6th featuring Peter Copping’s Oscar de la Renta Resort 2017 Collection. More than 600 guests attended.

The luncheon, now in its 46th year, dates back to 1969, when designer Bill Blass began showing his collection to a few loyal clients and friends at Lake Tahoe. Since then, it has evolved into a widely anticipated fundraiser for the League to Save Lake Tahoe.
