A look around the neighborhood

The annual Fall Associates Committee Benefit of Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, held on November 30th, was a great success and raised $215,000 for the organization’s programs. The benefit kicked off with cocktails hosted by Max Mara at their newly renovated shop on Madison Avenue at 68th Street. At 8:30 PM the 220 guests moved on to The Metropolitan Club for dinner and dancing.

Honored that evening for their long-time support of the Neighborhood House were Emily and Richard Leonard and Doug Steinbrech and Jeff Sharp. The host for the evening’s program, Othon Prounis, Board Member, presented the Honorees with framed water colors of Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, painted by children from the RealArts Afterschool program, one of the social service programs offered at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.

Max Mara, supporter sponsor and fashion contributor, provided a fashion show for the guests. Models wearing the Fall/Winter 2017 Max Mara collection walked among the tables during dinner to show their latest styles.  DJ Daddy Dog provided an exciting play list of music throughout the evening. A video compiled of many memorable photos of attendees at past Associates Committee Benefits was shown and enjoyed by all. 

The International Chair was Sana H. William Bernhard, Susan Gutfreund, Margo Langenberg and Kari Tiedemann co-hosted an evening of music with Maestro Marios Papadopoulos, Founder and Music Director of the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra. 

70 guests gathered at a private club for a champagne reception followed by a piano recital with Maestro performing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition.

The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the finest and most innovative orchestras in Europe.  In its role as the resident orchestra of the University of Oxford it enjoys a unique dimension between an academic university environment and a full concert season of a professional orchestra.  Maestro Marios Papadopoulos is committed to uncompromising quality, working with players of the highest caliber and world-class soloists.  The Oxford Philharmonic launched its American Friends patrons group one year ago in a debut performance with Maxim Vengerov. In 2018, the Orchestra will host its American Friends in London on June 26th at a Summer Party at the Wallace Collection to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
