In honor of the 2017 edition of Masterpiece London, the fabulous and deeply serious art and antiques fair that has been turning heads since it launched in 2010, Amy Astley, editor-in-chief of AD and Philip Hewat-Jaboor, Chairman of the fair, hosted a cocktail reception at the residence of Jill and Dan Dienst. This magnificent duplex was created in collaboration with John Pawson, the renowned British architect. Jill owns Dienst + Dotter, which is the place to shop for important Scandinavian decorative arts and paintings ranging from the 17th mid-20th centuries. The masterful blending of minimalism and simplicity for which Pawson is known combined with Jill's impeccable mix of period and contemporary Swedish furnishings added to the glamorous setting.

This past Monday night, interior designer Richard Mishaan and his wife Marcia hosted a group of friends for cocktails inside his “Well Traveled Room” at the Opening Night of the 45th Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Show House and then at a private dinner around the corner at Vaucluse. The Show House, an annual New York tradition, open to the public from May 2 to June 6 at 125 East 65th Street, includes the work of seventeen designers, each of whom has six weeks to transform one room in the townhouse.

Mishaan’s room, “The Parlor Room” on the ground floor, a vibrant homage to the legendary Renzo Mongiardino, celebrates craftsmanship. With an Iksel wallpaper of a 17th century Syrian design inset with marble moldings, it evokes a layered room collected over time with travel finds from around the world. Fabrics from Bevilacqua, Fortuny and Old World Weavers, an 18th century rug from F.J. Hakimian, a Stark sisal carpet, and a Walton Ford painting coexist with contemporary Peter Schlesinger sculptures and antiquities.

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House's annual Spring Gala was held at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday, April 18th. The theme of the evening was "All That Glitters…" and the dozens of tables designed by renowned designers did indeed sparkle through the evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing. Geoffrey Bradfield, known globally for his extraordinary interior design acumen and John Manice, distinguished Neighborhood House Board leader, were honored by the 500 guests in attendance.

Rachel Orkin-Ramey of Christie's was the auctioneer for the exciting Live Auction featured during dinner. The evening was a great success, raising significant funds for Lenox Hill Neighborhood House's critical programs for 15,000 New Yorkers in need.
