Eyes on the stars

Last Thursday night at Lincoln Center, Youth America Grand Prix held its "Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow" Gala. Amy Astley was the honorary chairman and Marcella Guarino Hymowitz served as chairman of the evening. Samantha Boardman-Rosen, Colby Mugrabi, Candice Jordan Miller, Ashley Olsen, Mary Kate Olsen, and Lesley Thompson Vecsler all served as co-chairs.

CBS's Keltie Knight welcomed guests to the performance from the stage of the David H. Koch Theater where young dancers, age 9 to 19, who participated in YAGP's international ballet auditions (stars of tomorrow) danced alongside today's greatest artists (stars of today) including Svetlana Lunkina and Evan McKie (National Ballet of Canada), Tamara Rojo and Cesar Corrales (English National Ballet), Skylar Brandt and Gabe Stone Shayer (American Ballet Theatre), and Tiler Peck and Zachary Catazaro (New York City Ballet).

Youth America Grand Prix is the world's largest global dance network of dance, connecting classically-trained students, teachers, schools, companies, alumni, sponsors, dancers and choreographers with audiences who share a distinct passion for dance. YAGP annually awards more than $500, 000 in scholarships from the leading dance schools worldwide. Nearly 200 guests gathered at Villa Belmonte, in West Palm Beach, Florida, for pre-renovation cocktails to celebrate the upcoming Kips Bay Palm Beach Designer Show House, benefitting the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. Built in 1925, the Mediterranean revival house will be a showcase for the artistry of approximately 20 designers, and will open with a gala preview on November 24th. Honorary Show House Chair is Bunny Williams, Design Chairs are Ellie Cullman and Pauline Pitt, Honorary Gala Preview Chairs are Dick and Ginny Simmons, Gala Preview Chairs are Wally and Betsy Turner and Junior Gala Preview Chairs are Nick and Caroline Rafferty.

Kips Bay's 45th Annual Decorator Show House in New York, an icon of the interior design world, will open on May 2nd. This new Palm Beach effort will mark the organization's first satellite show house, along with its first collaboration with a sister club. On hand to celebrate, a who's who of the Palm Beach interior design community, including Kips Bay Show House alums Leta Austin Foster, Larry Laslo, Stephen Mooney and Gil Walsh. Architectural Digest and Benjamin Moore sponsored the evening, which provided guests a first glimpse at the historic El Cid home.
