The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller, The Commandery of New York, and The Guide Dog Foundation held a Holiday Gala at the Metropolitan Club. The Order of St John of Jerusalem, Knights Hospitaller is among the oldest Orders of Chivalry in existence and descends directly from the Crusaders.

All proceeds from the event benefit the Guide Dog Foundation and America's VetDogs.  For more than 70 years the Guide Dog Foundation has provided guide dogs for those in need to promote independence, enhance mobility, and live with pride and self-reliance.  Since 2003, America's VetDogs has furnished guide and service dogs to give assistance to America's wounded veterans and first responders.

Casita students
Casita Maria’s after-school arts programs welcome over 1000 children each day in the South Bronx, still the poorest zip code in America. Casita Maria begins with children at six years old and stays with them until college. Their state of the art facility allows Casita Maria to present music, dance, as well as art exhibitions and installations which has a huge impact on thousands of families in the community at large.  Their work has never been more needed.
