Friday October 10th at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel, the Guardian Angels,
a membership support group of the Jackson Memorial Foundation hosted
their 5th Annual "Guardians of the Children" luncheon.
Tanya Capriles De Brillembourg, President & Founder
of the SaludArte Foundation and Guardian Angels Co-Founder Norma
Kipnis-Wilson, were honored for their selfless service to
children. The luncheon was hosted by WSVN news anchor Belkys
Nerey and featured informal modeling by CH Carolina Herrera,
the primary sponsor of this year's luncheon. Other corporate
sponsors include OleoMed and Bill Ussery Motors, Inc. There
was an awards presentation and induction ceremony for new Guardian
Angel members and for current members that have committed to renewing
their membership for another 5 year term. |

than 350 of Miami's leading ladies attended including luncheon chair
Ana Quincoces Rodriguez, as well as committee members
Lourdes Arriola, Sonia Bacardi, Tanya Brillembourg, Ivette
Corso, Fanny Dascal, Ileana Davide, Ana-Maria Davide Webster, Martha
de Cespedes, Marilda Del Rey, Diane de Olazarra, Silvia Fortun, Lisa
Marie Glode, Martha Gomez, Fana Holtz, Mariana Martinez, Rosa Mora,
Mayra Ruiz, Jill Swerdlow and Betty Veliz.
The Guardian Angels comprise 230 members whom each pledge $1,000 per
year for five years to join this charitable group. They are
dedicated to providing the very best medical attention possible to
the children being cared for at the Holtz Children's Hospital located
at the University of Miami\Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Proceeds
from this year's luncheon will help to complete the renovations of
the Pediatric Referral Unit and the Pediatric Transplant Surgical
Unit on the 6th Floor of Holtz Children's Hospital. Proceeds
will also benefit Diana Celeste, a beautiful 8-year-old girl from
Mexico, who received a life saving liver transplant through the Jackson
Memorial Foundation's International Kids Fund. She will now
be able to receive the special medication she needs so her body will
not reject the new liver. |
