On
Tuesday night, over at the Starlight Room in the Waldorf-Astoria,
Glimmerglass, the opera company, was holding its annual gala.
This year they honored Alfred Hubay, a Glimmerglass
trustee with close ties to the Metropolitan Opera and other companies
interested in the development of young singers.
Mr. Hubay is exemplary of the Glimmerglass supporters. They love music,
they love opera and the names of this year’s honorary chairs
says it all: Renee Fleming, Marilyn Horne, and
Anna Moffo. |
