Fondaras gave her annual Bastille Day luncheon, always
on the Saturday nearest the 14th of July, always in East Hampton,
for about ninety of her friends. This year was the first in Mrs. Fondaras’
new home within shouting distance of the beach. She sold her beach
house and its acreage a few years ago to someone who made her an offer
she couldn’t refuse, including allowing her to continue to occupy
the property until last fall.
The Bastille luncheon has become a tradition also for the many friends
who supports Mrs. Fondaras projects all designed to enhance French-American
relations and culture. It was a beautiful summer’s day. The
Fondaras chef and caterer, Vincent Minuto turned
out a huge buffet of delicious food and it was very late in the afternoon
when the final guests departed. |
