Models,
fashionisti and celebrities all gathered in the “baronial”
SoHo loft of Count Roffredo Gaetani, the man who is
Ferrari here in America. Roffredo, as he is known to his friends all
over the world, opened the doors to his 4,000-square-foot home to
the likes of Donald Trump, Lizzy Grubman, Steve Stout, Peter
Beard and other high profile New Yorker’s last Thursday.
Count Roffredo was also involved with Mr. Trump’s famous ex-wife,
Ivana for quite some time in the years post-divorce.

The Gaetani home
is full of fascinating objects including: a half ton bronze bull’s
head made by sculptor Arturo Di Modica, creator of
the famed Wall Street bull; a 200-year-old winepress from a Sicilian
farm – complete with a 15 foot trunk of an oak tree once turned
by a team of oxen – now hanging from the ceiling; and a Romanesque
bath lined in 4x4 foot marble slabs and oversized, glass enclosed
shower.
The event was to launch a high end Italian sportswear brand Post Card,
here in the United States. Thierry Andretta, CEO
of Post Card said that, “Roffredo Gaetani is a good fit for
the Post Card brand and is influential with our target consumers,
which includes those who purchase luxury goods. We like to call these
people the new aristocracy of New York.” Which translates: everybody
loves Roffredo.
Post Card is a subsidiary of the Belfe Group, a family-owned Italian
fashion giant since 1929 that turns out sportswear for the Armani,
Channel and Dior brands. |
