Bay Streeet Theatre in Sag Harbor had their annual Summer Gala Benefit, their largest fundraiser of the year, last week. They raised $400,000 to support many of their many year-round activities including the Mainstage Series, Summer Mondays, KidStreet – programming for young audiences, and the Educational Outreach Initiative that includes the Summer Internship program, Continuing classes and the Young Playwrights Program, bringing theatre arts education to students throughout the East End’s middle and high schools.

There was dinner, dancing and a big auction where they sold vacation stays in Jamaica and London, jewelry, memorabilia, a 3-month world cruise on a Crystal Cruise ship, a Target&Nascar Race weekend, a 7 night stay in a villa in Tuscany, all kinds of things. The highlight of the evening was the Live “Fantasy” Auction which featured special Guest Auctioneeers including Alec Baldwin, Mario Cantone, John DeLuca and Rob Marshall, Mercedes Ruehl, Roy Sheider and B. Smith. One of the items was a paid of diamond earrings from Harry Winston which was modeled by B. Smith and then purchased by her husband Dan Gasby, for her!
