The Jackson Memorial Foundation’s 2004 Gala honoring the Golden Angels, at the Fountainbleau Hilton was a spectacular Venetian Masquerade Fantasy. Co-chaired by Fana and Abel Holtz and Trudy Cejas and Ambassador Paul Cejas, the Honorary Chair was R. Kirk Landon.

More than 1,000 guests at the black tie affair were transported to Carnivale in Venice, Italy.

Tables were decorated with gold and red payette linens. and Italian style candelabras filled with paveed red roses and trunk jewels. Alex Donner and his Orchestra kept everyone dancing. There were aerial acts during the dinner, and the finale reminiscent of the movie “Wide Eyes Shut” were mesmerizing.

There was frenzied bidding at the Gala’s live and silent auction for such items as 2004 Chrysler Crossfire donated by Tamiami Automotive Group, a BMW Mini Cooper donated by South Motors BMW and a Sentinent Jet Gift card.

Guests were awarded special prizes for the most magnificent masks in four categories: Self-made was awarded to Janie Kupferman; Best female mask was awarded to Irene Panoff whose costumed herself with a peacock theme. Best male mask went to John Cadieux and the best table went to the group hosted by Monica Heftler.

As the Jackson Memorial Foundation's premier fundraising event, the Gala raised more than $3 million to benefit the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Funds raised from this years Gala will help provide for the needs of the critical projects at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center.
