The 21st Annual Calvary Hospital Awards Dinner Dance at The Plaza

Calvary Hospital held its 21st Annual Awards dinner dance on a Tuesday last June 15th at the Plaza. Indra K. Nooyi, President and CFO of PepsiCo received the Calvary Medal in recognition of her distinguished corporate and civic leadership and PepsiCo’s support of Calvary Hospital and its mission. LaSalle D. Leffall Jr., MD., chairman of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Charles R. Drew, Professor of Surgery, Howard University College of Medicine, received the Annie Blount Storrs in recognition of their distinguished careers in care of cancer patients.

Mary Higgins Clark, Constantine Clemente, Florence D’Urso, William J. Flynn, John R. Gleason, Karen Katen, Myra and Arthur Mahon, William G. Parrett, Susan and Jack Rudin, and Alfred E. Smith IV were Honorary Chairs.

Foley Jr., MD, Senior Vice President of Clinical Program Development, Anne Burnett Windfohr, Chair of Clinical Oncology and Medical Director, International Programs, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Steven J. Golub – Managing Director, Lazard, Richard E. Meyer – Chairman, Global Excess Partners, LLC; Thomas J. Morse – President and CEO, Mutual of America, Lionel L. Nowell III – Senior Vice President and Treasurer, PepsiCo and Carl W. Stern, Co-Chairman, the Boston Consulting Group were dinner co-chairs. John A. Decina, AIA, Senior Executive Vice President, Barr & Barr, Inc., and Dennis M Schneider, Executive Vice-President Transervice Lease Cooperation were Journal co-chairs.

Since its founding in 1899, Calvary Hospital has been devoted to providing care to adult patients in the advanced stages of cancer, addressing the symptoms of the disease, not its cure. Operated in connection with the Archdiocese of New York, Calvary is a voluntary, not-for-profit hospital embodying a tradition of caring through its many programs and services.
