The
Child Development Center of the Hamptons (CDCH) held its annual
summer benefit, “The Orchid Ball,” honoring
Stewart Lane, Tony Award-winning producer, writer
and director for his continued support of CDCH at the Siena Spirituality
Center at
Villa Maria in Water Mill, N.Y. They raised $550,000. Fred
Seegal,
Managing Executive of Stephens Financial Group, and his wife Robin
Neimark Seegal, President of the CDCH Foundation for Special
Children, announced that they would match any sponsorship pledged
that evening
to complete the first phase of construction on the new CDCH campus.
Proceeds from the event will be put towards construction costs associated
with the new, permanent home of the CDCH Charter School, being built
on 10.2 acres of land in East Hampton. The CDCH Charter School will
serve more than one hundred children from kindergarten through 7th
grade and employ a staff of more than forty teachers, assistants
and professional therapists. Opened in January of 2001, the CDCH
Charter School is a unique program where special-needs students learn
alongside their regular education peers. It's a place of resounding
harmony where children of all abilities learn and thrive in a stimulating
and nurturing environment. |
