Last
Wednesday, the Watermill Center held their Fall Benefit with
a festive celebration at BAM of the US premiere of Robert
Wilson's "The
Temptation of Saint Anthony" with a production inspired by
Flaubert and a score by composer/librettist Dr.
Bernice Johnson Reagon who drew upon African American musical heritage
of the last
300 years, including blues, chants, gospel and hip hop, with a
brilliant African American cast giving a spellbinding performance.
The evening, performance and dinner reception were produced in collaboration
with NAVAN, a fusion of Natural Black Vanilla from Madagascar with
refined French cognacs. |
