Sharon Stone hosted this year’s Princess Grace Foundation gala at Cipriani at 42nd St. last Wednesday with 700 people in attendance. Princess Grace’s son, Prince Albert of Monaco presided over the dinner and reception, with Mayor Bloomberg giving the inspiring opening speech.

Alberto Repossi, third generation jeweler from Paris, Monte Carlo, and London was the Crown Sponsor, and brought as his guest Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom (the wife of Mayor Newsom of San Francisco).

This year’s gala celebrated the winners of the 2004 Princess Grace Awards in theater, dance and film. Emmy award winner Tony Kushner presented a special award to theater maven George C. Wolfe. During the ceremony guests were graced with singing from Fantasia.

Other notable guests included the Baroness Von Langendorff, Houston socialite Lynn Wyatt, Denise Rich, and Giuseppe and Sabine Scavetta.

During her lifetime, Princess Grace of Monaco was deeply committed to helping young aspiring artists achieve their career goals. This too is the mission of the foundation named in her honor twenty years ago. The foundation’s program is dedicated to identifying and assisting young talent in theater, dance, and film through grants in the form of scholarships, apprenticeships and fellowships.

AMNH's 11th annual Family Party

The American Museum of Natural History held its 11th annual Family Party with more than 2500 children and parents participating in an evening of adventure throughout the Museum. This year the event featured "Frogs: A Chorus of Colors," an exhibition of more than 200 live frogs. Families were also invited to dig for dinosaurs, examine live reptilmes, butterflies and other animals as well as explore space, dine under the big blue whale and take in performances by Sugar Beats, attend the Scholastic Bookfactory (a build your book activity), participate in an Underwater Yoga Adventure as well as take in cool arts and crafts, microscope mania. All kinds of fun and learning filled this great New York institution of fascination and scholarship.

Dinner at Hunt Slonem’s Studio

A dinner invitation to renowned artist Hunt Slonem’s jaw-dropping 93 room, 50,000 square foot riverfront studio is fast becoming one of this town’s most coveted. Some are comparing the striking salon atmosphere and eclectic gathering of New York’s art world, fashion and social elite to the days of Andy Warhol. Recently, a glittering crowd payed tribute to Hunt on the night of his much-heralded Marlborough Gallery opening at a dinner hosted by Daniel Benedict and Andrew Saffir, Cayli Cavaco, Amy Fine Collins, Anne Slater and John Cahill, and Bettina Zilkha along with the Directors of the Marlborough Gallery. Daniel Boulud and Perrier Jouët provided the sumptuous French feast, to a crowd (many clad in Valentino and Martin Katz diamonds) that included Mary Alice Stephenson and Michiel Van der Wal, Cynthia Rowley and Bill Powers, Dan Abrams and Law and Order’s Elisabeth Rohm, Lisa Marie, Jerry Della Femina and Judy Licht, Beth Rudin de Woody, Paul Cavaco, John Demsey, Jill and Harry Kargman, Olivia Chantecaille, Tiffany Dubin, Tim Schifter, Jeffrey and Fiona Slonim, Chickie Ruger, Ashton Hawkins, Ann Rapp, Kevin Sessums, Karen Duffy, Sasha Tcherevkoff, Sally Morrison, Liz Dueland, Patrick McMullan, Richard Turley and Sandra Lee.
