Dr. Thomas
Romo thanked supporters for attending, "Reconstruction
of a congenital facial birth defects is one of the most gratifying
of all surgeries. The transformation of young, shy children into
proud, self-confident children is truly amazing," said Dr.
Thomas Romo. “We have been able to do some amazing work
this year.
Three children have successfully completed reconstructive
surgeries.” He
added, “We are extremely proud that we have built a world
class Medical Advisory Board, who is revolutionizing the field
of facial
reconstructive surgery. Your support will help us to provide
even more children with reconstructive surgery and to provide
education
and services to children, families and medical providers around
the world. I encourage you to spend.” |

Rudy
Giuliani helped with the live auction item, which sold for a
whopping $13,000, a round of golf with the former Mayor at the
prestigious Trump National Golf Club in Briarcliff Manor, NY. “Playing
golf with me is a life threatening experience. I play combat
golf,” he joked. Other auction items included a sail on
the Mediterranean on a seven day Yacht Holiday, a romantic hot
air balloon ride including champagne and caviar and dinner for
2 at the Culinary Institute at Hyde Park, a Burberry fragrance
basket, a day of beauty with Rodolfo Valentin, a haircut by Oribe
at Louis Licari, a shopping day with personal shopper Joan
Lacey, and an autographed boxing glove by Glen “the
Road Warrior” Johnson who recently knocked out Roy
Jones. The elegant room was filled with pink and white
flowers by Michael Thomas Platos, as waiters
passed sumptuous hors d’oeuvres such as shrimp cocktail,
asparagus wrapped in prosciutto and sesame chicken strips, while
the buffet dinner was filled with dishes including pineapple
roasted ham, smoked salmon and cheese ravioli in Alfredo sauce.
Guests went home with gift bags filled with items from Atkins
Nutritionals, Laura Geller Make-Up Studios and
Gloss Day Spa.
Parents need to know that while they may not have been able to prevent their
child's disfigurement, they can do something to correct it. The Little Baby
Face Foundation can be a most valuable resource for learning all there is to
know about a child's condition and obtaining the best available medical, educational,
emotional and financial assistance.
LBFF provides
financial assistance to families with children who are afflicted
with congenital birth defects including microtia, atrisia, cleft
lip/palate and facial paralysis, so that they have access to
available procedures and treatments. Click
