Last Saturday in Southampton, John and Robin Pickett gave a book signing party at their house Beechwood for Robin Hazelwood who has just written a book called Model Student. The book is about Hazelwood’s days at Yale when she also modeled. The Picketts have known Ms. Hazelwood since she went to school with one of the Picketts’ sons. It was a beautiful evening in Southampton and there was a big turn-out.

The Animal Rescue Fund held its annual summer dinner dance in East Hampton last weekend with a record number of guests (260), raising more than $200,000 for the task of rescuing pets who’ve been made homeless.
The event was co-chaired by Hadley Smith, Kathy Rayner, Lisa McCarthy, Alex Lind Rose, Jane Maynard and Jane Wolkowitz. Susan Miller Smith and Kathy Rayner did the decorations and Peter Duchin’s orchestra provided the music. Four dogs and two cats were adopted that night. While that’s good, it’s not enough – these little loved ones need loving homes. It’s a good deal for the adopters. As I’ve written here before, Oliver Dog was adopted by NYSD’s JH at one of these ARF benefits in 2000 and it’s been oh-happy-day ever since with the little tail wagger.
