Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons hosted a Garden Party in East Hampton this past Saturday for the 7th annual Art For Life Seventh Heaven benefit honoring Donna Karan, Raymond J. McGuire and Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. Event Co-Chairs were Shahara Ahmad-Llewellyn and Haley and Jason Binn. Art Auction Chairs were Derrick Adams, Carmen Hammons, Danny Simmons, and Simon Watson.
Rush aims to present the highest quality arts education for New York City’s children, with a particular focus on underserved, under-recognized or disadvantaged populations. They believe the process of making art is an invaluable tool and that artmaking itself can be used as a vehicle to build bridges between communities. Donna Karan was busy last weekend. Before being honored at Russell and Kimora Simmon’s 7th annual Art for Life benefit in East Hampton, she was over in Water Mill for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund’s Super Saturday 9 with Charla Lawhon and Kelly Ripa.
Super Saturday is the Grand Prix of Shopping, a designer garage sale with merchandise marked down 30-50% off and all the proceeds going to the Ovarian Cancer Fund. Participants included the Donna Karan Collection, of course, as well as DKNY Donna Karan New York and DKNY KIDS, but also scores of other well known brands from 7 For All Mankind, Baby Lulu, BCBG Max Azria, Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons, Banana Republic, Best & Co., Hugo Boss, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jill Stuwart, Juicy Couture, Lambertson Truuex, Michael Kors, Moschino, Theory, Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, Badgley Mischka, and on and on like that.
The benefit committee was chaired by Patti and Harvey Cohen and Faith and Jeffrey Kogan and included, among others, Lorraine Bracco, Cristina Greeven Cuomo, Nina Griscom, Shoshanna Gruss, Anne Keating, Dylan Lauren, Heateher Mnuchin, Fernanda Niven, Sheila Parham, Dayssi Olarte de Kanavos, Jamie Tisch, and Bettina Zilkha.
