Nan Revisited

Sunday in Madison Square Park. Photo: JH.
Today and tomorrow they are auctioning off pieces of the wardrobe of the late Nan Kempner. An enormous portion of the late great fashion queen’s collection went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art where they staged an exhibition earlier this year (NYSD 1.4.07).

Last week, The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center held a fund-raising cocktail party preview of the collection. Proceeds of the auction will go to the SMSKCC which Nan served as president for a number of years. She was a big booster and a hard worker for the cause.
