Princess Michael of Kent

Princess Michael of Kent. Austrian-born, Australian wife of (her second husband) Prince Michael of Kent (pictured), brother of the Duke of Kent and first cousin of the Queen. The princess who is tall, blonde and royal looking, often visits New York.

The daughter of Austrian Baron Gunther von Reibnitz and his Hungarian wife, Maria Anna, Countess Szapár, she was born Baroness Marie-Christine von Reibnitz, and after her parents divorce, went to live in Australia with her mother and brother.  After a brief marriage to London banker Tom Troubridge, which was annulled in 1977, the baroness married Prince Michael. The couple of have two children, Lord Frederick Windsor and Lady Gabriella Windsor.

She has published several books on the royal families of Europe: Crowned in a Far Country: Eight Royal Brides (Weidenfeld), and Cupid and the King - Five Royal Paramours (Harper Collins) and in 2004 The Serpent and The Moon. She also undertakes lecture tours, and supports her husband in his public work.

Through her mother, the Princess is a great14-granddaughter of Diane de Poitiers,  mistress of Henri II of France and a great12-granddaughter of Catherine de Medici, Queen of France.
