17th Annual DANCE PARADE

The 17th annual Dance Parade will take place Saturday May 20th, a joyous parade celebrating dance with 10,000 dancers from 160+ local and guest dance organizations, performing over 100 styles of dance. The event will begin with a ribbon cutting at 12 noon at 6th Avenue & 17th Street; proceed down 6th Avenue; then East on 8th Street. Grandstands will be set up on 8th Street and 4th Avenue, where audiences can enjoy short dance performances by selected groups. The parade continues to Tompkins Square Park, and from approximately 3 to 7 the fun continues in the park with dance performances and free lessons on five set up stages in the park. Grand Marshals are renowned dance figures Ronald K. Brown and Elizabeth Streb, and DJ Natasha Diggs.
