92Y Spring Gala – A One of a Kind Night for a One of a Kind Place

May 20, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 9:30 PM

$1800

92Y celebrates its 145th year with an annual gala—A One of a Kind Night for a One of a Kind Place–Monday, May 20, 6-9:30 pm at the 92Y, 1395 Lexington Ave, New York City. 92Y entertains people, enriches lives, advances new ideas with agenda-setting talks, innovates, inspires, and so much more. Our Gala is our most impactful and important fundraiser of the year, ensuring our ability to serve the community – locally and across the globe. The format of our Gala evening is unique and curated to provide guests with one-of-a-kind experiences that could only happen here. The evening begins with cocktail hour in 92Y’s lobby. Then guests move to the adjacent auditorium for a brief opening program which will include a dance from Ailey II, performing a section of Ailey’s masterpiece, Revelations (which is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its premiere at 92Y). Gala guests choose (in advance) to attend one of 7 different dinner parties throughout the building, each with a top-notch dinner program curated around a different aspect of 92Y, ranging from art, to literature, to conversation, to family, to innovation, and more. The themes and speakers will include “Shakespeare, Continued” with Nathan Lane (“Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus”), hosted by Jaime Rosenstein and Joshua Haber; “Inside Jewelry” featuring Debra Messing (“Will & Grace”) and Town & Country’s Editor-in-Chief Stellene Volandes, hosted by Andrea and Carole Olshan; “Conversation” featuring Dr. Henry Kissinger and (Ret) General Daniel H. Petraeus, hosted by Daphne Recanati-Kaplan and Thomas Kaplan; “Innovation,” which includes a special tribute to Henry Timms’ tenure as 92Y’s President and CEO, hosted by Carolyn & Laurence Belfer; “Family” featuring Lesley Stahl (“60 Minutes”), Dr. Perri Klass, and 92Y’s Ellen Birnbaum and Sally Tannen, hosted by Constance and David Littman; “Forever Young” honoring Philip Milstein’s 40 years of Board Service at 92Y, hosted by Jody & John Arnhold, Jane Goldman & Benjamin Lewis, Jennifer & Marc Lipschultz, and Merrie, Josh, Toby & Larry Milstein; and “Future of the Jews” featuring Ronald Lauder, President World Jewish Congress; Jonathan Ornstein, Executive Director, JCC Krakow; Einat Wilf, former member of Knesset; and 92Y’s Rabbi Peter J. Rubinstein, hosted by Melanie & Matthew Bronfman and Cheryl & Michael Minikes.

Funds raised at the Gala help make sure that our services are open to everyone who walks through our doors – 365 days a year. For example, we award more than $1 million in scholarship funding annually. Your support enables hundreds of children and adults to participate in 92Y’s education, dance, music, art, health, fitness, sports, family, camp, special needs and after-school programs. It also funds over 16,000 New York City public school children through our educational outreach programs, which ensure that students are exposed to high caliber arts, science, and literary enrichment programs. 92Y proudly provides these scholarships, reaching out beyond our core constituency to serve people of every religious, racial and ethnic background. This is just a sample of the work we do. To see just how rich our programming is, here is a link to our impact report: https://www.92y.org/support/your-impact.aspx

The evening’s sponsors are Inspīr | Carnegie Hill and 180 E 88th St.
