The Manhattan Adult ADD Support Group is pleased to present the following lecture on Thursday, March 28th at 6:00 PM (On Zoom): ADHD in the Workplace: A Look at Legal Issues w/ Susan Yellin, Esq. How is an employer required to act when told that an employee has ADHD? Which, at times, can complicate a job situation? Depending on the circumstances, what arrangements might be made? What accommodations could be available? On April 28, we’ll look at the relevant legal landscape. In the process, you’ll gain an idea of how US law — and particularly the Americans With Disabilities Act — deals with ADHD at work. Our presenter, Susan Yellin, has been a practicing New York attorney for over 25 years. She has extensive experience in legal issues related to education and special education. Currently Mrs. Yellin works with families to obtain school services — or search for appropriate school settings — for K-12 students. This in her role as Director of Advocacy and Transition Services at the Manhattan-based Yellin Center for Mind, Brain and Education. Prior to joining the Yellin Center, Mrs. Yellin founded the nonprofit Center for Learning Differences, which has provided information and resources to families and professionals. She also created its signature program, Life After High School, which supports students with learning issues. Mrs. Yellin writes a regular column for ADDitude Magazine. She is also an author of Life After High School: A Guide for Students with Disabilities and Their Families (Jessica Kingsley Publishers).
