You are cordially invited to the second wedding of David and Katie. This confidently codependent couple will teach you how to love correctly through original music, exotic rituals, and a unity volcano. This time it’ll stick! For realz tho!

David and Katie Get Re-Married pairs David Carl (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Gary Busey’s One-Man Hamlet, Trump Lear, The Tender Bar) and Katie Hartman (Netflix’s The Week Of, High Maintenance) in a slapdash wedding betwixt a star-crossed couple who has broken up and reunited more frequently than Spiderman has been rebooted.

This dark comedy with original music features the worst couple in the world on the second happiest day of their lives after the first happiest day of their lives didn’t work out.

David and Katie’s friends and family refuse to support their love a second time, so the audience will have to witness them tie the knot for round two! This real-time trainwreck nuptial will make you laugh, cry, and possibly question the institution of marriage itself.

If you are looking for an irreverent adult comedy to enjoy with friends, lovers, or your fun cousins from Nebraska, then look no further. Who knows? After the ceremony, you just might meet your future ex-partner!

Stick around after the ceremony for some wedding cake made by David.

Yes, David Carl and Katie Hartman are also a real couple who FINALLY got married October 15, 2022. The characters in this show are completely fictional… at least that’s what we’re telling people.

The real David and Katie wrote and performed this show for the first time 3 months after meeting in 2014 at 123 E 24th (formerly the PIT) and then started dating a year later. The show later ran at the PIT NYC in 2015, performed their songs at venues like Caroline’s, won “Best Original Music” at NYC Frigid Festival 2019, and toured in Colorado Springs in January 2020…RIGHT before the Pandemic stopped them from taking over the world. Now they’re back 10 years after the original show at the same address (123 E 24th) with a new name…Asylum NYC!.

“humorously demented exploration of whether marriage is an institution or whether the people doing it should be institutionalized.” Theater Scene

“David Carl and Katie Hartman are explosive dueling forces of nature.” – BestNewYorkComedy.com

“This talented duo display not only crisp comedic timing and a rapturous chemistry, but also an impressive musical proficiency, particularly in the three well-crafted and uproariously funny songs”
Across the Margin

“As funny as the marriage antics are, Carl and Hartman are also impressive lyricists and musicians who harmonize really well together on their original songs in the show.”
