Figure Skating in Harlem’s 2019 Champions in Life Benefit Gala

Figure skating stars including Olympic gold medalists (and Dancing with the Stars winner) Meryl Davis, Charlie White, and Evan Lysacek as well as Olympic medalists Michelle Kwan, Sasha Cohen, Maia and Alex Shibutani, Nathan Chen (2019 World Champion), and Tanith Belbin White will join the students of Figure Skating in Harlem and gala guests for FSH’s annual fundraising Gala. Joining these skaters on and off the dance floor will be Duke University sports legend Mike “Coach K” Krzyzewski, fashion icon Vera Wang, business mogul Terry Lundgren, and more. The evening celebrates and supports Figure Skating in Harlem’s one-of-a-kind education, health, and fitness programs for underserved girls as well as its program in Detroit.

Our confirmed honorees: ABC Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts, Olympic Medalist and National Champion, Tim Goebel, and Craig Livingston, Managing Partner, Exact Capital Group.

Our host for the evening will be NBC’s Today Show’s Al Roker.

Now in its 22nd year, Figure Skating in Harlem is the only organization for girls of color that combines the power of education with access to the artistic discipline of figure skating to build champions in life. FSH’s mission is to help girls transform their lives and grow in confidence, leadership, and academic achievement. Through its award-winning programming, FSH provides girls with innovative skating and education programs including STEAM and public speaking classes, career and college preparation, health & fitness, and life skills classes. Recent graduates have gone on to Georgetown University, Spelman, Brown, Boston College, Mount Holyoke, Howard University, and more.
