Housing Works Groundbreaker Awards

– Housing Works will host its annual Groundbreaker Awards Dinner on April 19, 2023. The awards presentation serves as the opening ceremony to the DOAD (Design on a Dime) benefit which showcases luxury home decor and furnishings in vignettes, styled by the industry’s most acclaimed interior designers, that are sold to support Housing Works. The awards ceremony and DOAD, which runs April 20-22, will both be held at The Metropolitan Pavilion. The Groundbreaker Awards Dinner is hosted by DOAD Founding Chair James Huniford. Each year, Housing Works recognises outstanding individuals with the Groundbreaker Awards honoring members of the community making extraordinary contributions while leading the fight against HIV/AIDS and supporting LGBTQ civil rights. The recipients of the 2023 Groundbreaker Awards are Hollywood power duo, Interior Designer & Celebrity Stylist Adair Curtis and Jason Bolden; Author, Entrepreneur, and Global Advocate for CARE, Iman; and Fashion Editor and Author Derek Blasberg.

With Founding Chair Huniford, the 2023 event leadership includes DOAD Co-chairs: Rayman Boozer, Jamie Drake, Elissa Grayer, Young Huh, David Kaihoi, Charlotte Moss, Joy Moyler and Miles Redd.

Preceding the dinner and awards presentation, attendees will be treated to an exclusive DOAD shopping preview featuring dozens of jaw-dropping vignettes along with a festive cocktail reception. All proceeds from DOAD and the Groundbreaker Awards support Housing Works’ lifesaving services and advocacy. DOAD has raised over $21 million since its inception in 2004.
