Jonah Bokaer Choreography presented its annual NYC season, unveiling never-before-seen pandemic dances created between 2020-2023. JBC’s international multi-ethnic dancers returned gracefully to Florence Gould Hall, its chosen home for NYC, French, and diaspora cultures, which includes FIAF and Florence Gould Hall. JBC was founded in 2002 by Tunisian-American choreographer Jonah Bokaer as the banner program of Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization running the dance company and its programs. JBC rose quickly to French and international acclaim by touring 35 weeks abroad annually pre-pandemic. JBC returned to FIAF post-pandemic is a resuscitation of local program services in NYC and represents a return home to our audiences and supporters. JBC seasons in NYC are funded by Harkness Foundation for Dance, Fox Samuels Foundation and Prospect Hill Foundations, and many others. The “Spring Fling” Benefit Reception in Le Skyroom of FIAF, followed the evening’s performance, with an uplifting mix of patrons, artists, press, philanthropists, designers, and young patrons all standing united to support the arts in New York City’s cultural recovery.Event Calendar
